After college in Japan, Yosuke Yamamori worked for a Japanese Pearl Company where he was trained in all aspect of the pearl industry. Two years later he was sent to Hong Kong to train employees of a department store in sorting, grading and stringing pearls. In 1968, he emigrated to the United States where he opened a small business YYP Manufacturing Company making pearl jewelry which he sold to stores throughout North Carolina.
